Free Art Lessons! DON'T GO TO ART SCHOOL!Update Febuaray 4, 2014: My CHannel has moved!!!
Go here http://www.youtube.com/user/TheJettyJetShow
It was moved because at least 7 of my videos were being blocked do to copy right reasons, i even got a notice that, if i play any more songs I will lose alot of posting privileges. Also i always wanted an intro to my video as well as getting all my thumbnails to look professional so i thought id start fresh in this new channel. Hope you guys check it out. All the videos from my old channel will be added gradually, i just gotta go through them and fix the sound tracks add intros etc. The difference from my old channel and the new is, the new one has "THE" in it. From just "jettyjetshow" to "THEJETTYJET SHOW)
Jet here! Ive put this off for far too long. Any who I've started a youtube channel about a year ago, and i thought i'd make an official flyer for it to explain explicitly what i'll be doing as well as cover some of the questions that some of you guys may be
So you've decided to talk to an artistHey everybody, this is going around over on tumblr, but I feel like it's just as relevant here and it's a really good informational post for people that have/want to have good dealings and interactions with online artists. Because seriously, these are really good things to know. (I mean, I've been pestered by almost all of these at some point or another, and if people had read these they might have saved me a lot of annoyance) So give it a read if you'd like. The original post comes from www.phantom42.tumblr.com
Don’t tell an artist, “SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!" or "I would totally buy that!" if you’re not ready and/or willing to back it up with an actual purchase. Artists love that you love the piece, but often produce pieces/quantities based on apparent interest and potential customers. Gauges of potential buyers and gauges of general interest are both very important, but they are very different.
dumpingSeriously, what's wrong with you (and you and you and yes, you as well)?!
Today I read a bit (or more) into the comments some people left at a poll :icondamaimikaz: did (go there and read if you're curious). It left me baffled and angry because so many people are frankly UNDERselling themselves and their art.
One girl wrote me a while ago and ask for my opinion on her prices- privately because most people seem to suck at giving a critical opinion or give a decent mental clout... or two. Whatever helps. I still hope she got rid of the annoying customer who sounded like one from hell. Where he hopefully trolled back into.
Here's my two cents regarding the topic and please read carefully and make up your mind if you fall into the "sell cheap" category.
First of all I could ignore what price you sell your art for because it's YOUR art. Because like in real jobs everybody's responsible for his/her money and you have to negotiate your terms and the money yourself. Nobody will hold your hand
Keep in Touch!
