Day 26 of Illo 365

I'm running out of poignant things to say.

GAH, I love the crispness of the characters against the brushstrokes of the background and foreground.

Watch the world carefully and take notes of thing you see during the day that are striking to you? You'll find more to say. And if you don't you don't have to say anything at all. Sometimes that's ok too and you'll find later that you actually were saying something even if it wasn't a conscious decision to do so at the time.

Haha, that was a very deep response! Good advice though!

Sorry. It's probably because I've started taking art education classes so I can teach art and I've been reading too much art philosophy.

I love this. I think it would be even more effective maybe if you clarified more foreground? Anyway, I think it's lovely and am wondering what brushes you use to achieve that effect? =]

You mean make the edges sharper on trees? I suppose, but it was a purposeful choice on my part! I was trying to mimic how a camera would rack focus to a particular point in a picture (in this case the mid-ground). But you're right, everything is a bit too dark, haha!

I switched around between three brushes: one is just the dry brush with fiddled presets and the other two were ones I found awhile ago (I don't remember where, sorry!).

No no, definitely keep the slight blurriness, I like that. I guess maybe more contrast is what I meant.

Ah, thanks anyway. <3
