I guess I'd call this a promotional picture for my story, Wayward School for Misfit Creatures of the Generically Evil. The characters featured here are Lucian [the kid with the ears], Ursula [purple hair], Victoria [black hair], and Vincent [the one sitting]. If you're interested, look in my gallery for some chapters.
However, the primary focus of the picture is going to be on Vincent, so I'll be explaining him in further detail than the rest.
This story is set in the 1800's, when the Church of England has been working for several decades to uphold control against demons and monsters that have, unknown to them, been wrongfully thought of for centuries. They have rigid regulations for these creatures, and keep a tight watch on anyone remotely against their standards.
Vincent is part of that church, though one could not say truthfully that he follows these same ideals. This 24 year old is more interested in the research; he's interested in understanding how they work rather than controlling them. He isn't exactly well liked by the Order, which was why they sent him off to the worst job they could offer: House Inspection.
However, through this he finds out later that this assignment is probably the best thing that would happen to him yet.
Vincent is knowledgeable in his studies, though he still can't break out of his view of a black and white world. When he arrives to the Wayward School for Misfit Creatures of the Generically Evil, run and owned by Madame Victoria, they clash heads at each other due to his naivety and her utmost hatred for humans.
But through his journey he grows up a bit, along with Victoria, and finds out that in life, there's some gray area as well. This story is focused on Vincent and his growth into wisdom, and how the people he met changed him for the better, and vise versa.
About the picture, I'm disappointed that I messed up on the background, which is why I took it out of the final version [sorry guys who helped me out in scraps. I failed you]. I wish I could have done more, but this picture honestly looks better without one. This is supposed to be an interpretation of his first visit into the school, and their general reactions toward each other.
Sounds like an interesting idea! I like the composition of this a lot - the perspective kinda dwarfs vincent (in a good way!) and makes him look more confused and ... uh, not completely in control, I guess. PRETEND THAT MADE SENSE
I really like how you draw noses, too. *3* (plus hurhur I have a total soft spot for priest characters so I really like the main character's design.) Out of curiosity, and if you don't mind answering, how are you planning to execute the story? Comic/writing/etc?
Well, I'm not much of a comic artist, so I just written chapters on it. It's still on the way, but it's in my gallery for anyone interested in what I have so far. :3

good ol' traditional. gotta love it. <3 even without a background, this looks amazing. I still adore Vincent's expression. sort of a "wtf?" kind of face. XD and Lucian's face is so cute! <3 such an adorable kid, he is.
lovely coloring, as well. very smooth and rich. *3*
I agree with Nyame; this looks like it could be a movie poster!
Ahh, Vincent. My sex-muffin. He knows he likes the Kurz Aerial Rape Attack. |3 But srsly, I like the blank background. It's like, Vincent is still black and white, and then the background and border is black and white. It's like symbolism, maaan. (LOVE-SLAVE)

Its a very nice composition too...I especially like the high angle view and how Vincent is framed by the other three.
