But suddenly, she was gasping for air. And blood of the most sickening red was drenched in the muddied snow around her.

She should be dead.

Then why…?

Her fingertips trembled as she felt a warm, gloved, guiding hand lift her wearily to her feet. It should have been only a couple of hours, perhaps even moments before she was shot fatally to the heart. She pressed her fingers to her chest, and felt not one, but three bullets to her body.
